Krua Apsorn

It is about remarkable delicious food and owner's hospitality. Krua Apsorn is selected to be the best restaurant by Bangkok Post in 2006 as well as is published in many magazines due to its being favorite of some members of Thai royal family. The place is quite crowded although we, P.Ou's Mom, P.Aey, P.Ou and I, reach there before lunch time, there are a few seats left and reservation is still recommended.

The menu presents around 30 simply local dishes. We start with Mieng Kana, red onion, ginger, peanut, lemon, dry shrimp, pig crackling and sweet sauce warpped in Chinese cabbage. The dishes that should not miss and the restaurant's best selling are Gaeng Luang Lai Bua, or sour and spicy yellow curry cooked with lotus stems, Hoy Malangpoo Pad Cha, or stir-fried mussels with basil leaves and chilli, and Kai Jeaw Poo Foo, or omlet with crab meat. We also have Kana Moo Grob, or stir-fried Chinese cabbage with crispy pork. Dessert is also notable, we have sticky rice and peanut in coconut milk, banana in coconut milk, and coconut ice cream.

Krua Apsorn is located on Samsen Road between Wat Rachathiwat and the National Library, opposite Suan Sunantha Institute. There is no parking space, but parking place can be found some places around there and it may not be convenience for elder to walk. However, it can make up with it tasty food. P.Aey said it was worthy.

Birds Attack

My house is surrounding with many kinds of creatures. Recently, fishes are attacked by birds. They settle down on trees in our house since they find that there are easy to find food here. They fly to the edge of the pond and eat fishes. Firstly, I think of putting a scarecrow, but it comes out like it is in the picture. It still cannot stop them coming. Anyone has any ideas!

P.Ou ??th Birthday

This year P.Ou turns ..., we had a tiny surprised birthday party in our room at Courtyard by Marriott, Cha-am Beach. Proud and Gene joined the party which had only cakes; it is yummy although we were so full by seafood dinner.

P.Ou showed his birthday cakes.

Seeing landscape of the hotel from cafeteria, no one was in the pool since it was raining.

Krua Mali

Krua Mali is known as one of a delicious Thai Cuisine, located on Samsennai Road, opposite to Sam Sen Train Station. It is rather far from our regular route which usually is Sukhumvit area. We called on Pa Ya who had a back surgery at Rajavithi Hospital then had lunch at Krua Mali. Parking space is on the street, in front of the restaurant which may not be enough on any busy day. Anyway, it is chilled at lunch time on Saturday.

We had Fried Catfish in Spicy Soup which in Thai called Kang-Pha because it is no coconut, Krua Mali Salad which is Som Tum with Roasted Pork, Shrimp, and Crispy Fish, Sator Fried with Shrimp Paste, and Fried Sea Bass. Black Jelly in Syrup (chow kuay) is our dessert.

Veggie Girl

This year, I am veggie from September 28 to October 8. I am pretty strict so that I separate kitchenware and table set as well as study each label on food before purchase. However, I am the only one in the house who is veggie and P.Ou does not understand why my veggie life seem to be so difficult even though I do this every year since I remember.
Being offended, it is because I do not live my life harmonize with him. He is worried that I cannot find anything to eat although I find that almost every eatery sell veggie food. Moreover, I do not know the reason why he does not want to try veggie food although it is tasty.
On the other hand, I realize why I am veggie, it is because I love myself. It is healthy and helps detox without using any chemical. It also gives mercy to all animals; I do not eat them for 10 days so they can grow or live longer. I will think positive for the remaining veggie day.
